On 13 February, the agreement between the Association Monégasque de l’Ordre de Malte and the Monaco Cardio-Thoracic Centre was renewed for a further three years.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Association Monégasque de l’Ordre de Malte, Jean Kerwat, and the CEO of the CCM, Guy Nervo, as well as by Doctors Filippo Civaia, Bruno Gostoli and Armand Eker and Professor Sylvie Di Filippo of the CCM, and on behalf of the Association Monégasque de l’Ordre de Malte, Laurence Blanchi, Vice-President, Didier Gamerdinger, Secretary General-Chancellor, and Gaia Catelli-Toninelli, Hospitalière.

Since 2011, the Association and the Centre have been engaged in a long-term partnership in the field of humanitarian surgery. Under the terms of this agreement, the Association has undertaken to contribute an annual sum of €30,000 for three years, enabling the Centre to carry out 3 to 5 surgical operations each year for patients from less-favoured countries, from which they cannot benefit in their country of origin.

Since the partnership was set up, more than twenty patients, mainly children and young people, have received medical treatment or undergone surgery at the Centre for cardio-thoracic or vascular pathologies.
